Copycat Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Recipe

Let dough rise for an hour and a half in a warm place (you can set it on a preheated stove or place the bowl in an OFF oven on the top rack with a separate bowl of boiled water (about 150-170 degrees) on the bottom rack, then close the oven and let rise).

Prepare a baking soda bath using 8 cups of water and 1/4 cup baking soda. Submerge pretzels in the bath for a maximum of 25-30 seconds.

Bake the pretzels at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown (check on them).

Brush with melted unsalted butter. Top with pretzel salt or flake salt, and optionally a mix of cinnamon sugar.

For icing, use canned sweetened condensed milk, or make your own by mixing 2.5 cups of powdered sugar with 4 tablespoons of cold milk.
